x through battery, shows not installed, 0 cycles. Had a liquid spill reported but no visible corrosion.

different board charges the battery ok, Orange light, and the battery indicator shows full charge.

Once it boots, it will run off the battery. doesn't die when unplugged.

well, it's working now, it appears to have fixed itself. not the first time probing around got the fan spinning again.

this is my personal machine. coffee was spilled on it about 18 months ago with no major corrosion. Just died on me today. I found that pp5_s5_LDO was missing and with a little more troublshooting found no PM-SLP-S4_L

well, trace from pin 5 throug r6961 to pin 1 of r5071 was good. reflowed the SMC and now it sleeps. My thinking was the ball for smc lid was cracked. Thanks for the help Duke.

Great success! Thanks Duke, that solved it. This board was covered in corrosion and I was surprised that it booted in the first place.

area had a little water damage, went ahead and cleaned up from a donor just in case. Still has the 1/4 fan spin.

if I short to ground it does not go to sleep. resistance from pin 5 of j6955 to pin 1 of R5071 is 103 ohms, so the trace to the SMC is good.

27-28 is 20.55 ohm. 17-18 is 3.05 ohm. PPBUS is 15.7v

Tried other Battery indicator light in a different case. R6961 is there and has continuity. I get 3.4v on pin 5 of J6955 whether it's open or closed. Does that mean the other battery indicator light board is bad as well?

r5280 and r5281 are good and I have continuity from the ISL to the battery through the traces
