    820-2915-a Spontaneous Shutdown, No Startup

So the changes I have noted so far are: Post 34 - Remove R7940 and run a wire from 3V42_G3H to C7942 Post 40 - Remove F7040/41 Post 56 - Remove R7978 So what you are saying is undo all previous changes, except removing the fuses per post 64? None of the component removals / jumpering were...

    F7040/1 were removed since post #40. C7040 is solid 12.58V SMC_PM_G2_EN solid 3.48V

Nope it is solid right now at 1.5V. It did used to be around 12.5V with some fluctuations but since then we have removed a few components so not sure if that should be expected.

Yes. SMC_PM_G2_EN is steady at 3.48V as measured from pin 12 of U7201. Just to note, before and after R7978 removal, pin 12 was at 3.48V solid.

    Note for all "cycling" pins the numbers are all approximate (value changes quickly so its whatever I could see at max). 12 - 3.48V 13 - .158V 21 - 3.48V 22 - 1.8 down to 1.7V then cycles 0.25Hz 23 - 1.9 down to 1.7V cycles 0.25Hz 29 - 1V cycles down to 0.8V 0.25Hz P3V3S5_VFBR_R - spikes to 2V...

I am super confused what is going on now because the pulsing frequency has now changed to what looks like 0.2Hz. So what you stated is true, if I press SMC_ONOFF_L for about 1s (3s would be the same), SMC_PM_G2_EN gets solid 3.5V. 3V3_S5 gets solid 2.1V. 3V3_S5 doesn't look right only having...

It seems like the trace goes under the chip. There is no trace leading out from pin 12 of the U7201.

So based on what you said earlier about the U7000 and SMC, are you suggesting the next thing to do is to replace both components or something? The last concrete step was to remove the fuses.

Got it. So since it is in the 12.4 - 12.7V range, what is the next step?

Ok so with the multimeter, which doesn't really update very quickly, it looks around 12.6V on Pin23, though the number moves around a little bit. This is similar to the DC voltage randomly jumping from 0V -> 2.3V -> 0.7V -> 0.2V -> etc etc for pulsing pins.

Wait hold on I feel like im missing something here. PPBUS_G3H never fluctuated at any point. Even in the beginning before removing any components, PPBUS_G3H was stable at 12.5V (post #1).

    The voltage is on the left axis of each image. Pin 12 - Pulse 0-3.5V Pin 13 - Pulse 0-2V Pin 21 - 3.5V Pin 22 - 3.35V Pin 23 - 12.25 - 12.75V ... weird interference, matches pulse frequency Pin 29 - Pulse 0.9 - 5V

removed R7940, soldered a wire from pin 2 of where R7940 used to be (PP3V3_S5_EN) and also happens to be pin 1 of C7942, to pin 1 of R7941 (PP3V42_G3H). PP3V3_S5 at C9487 pulsing 0 - 3.5V as usual.

    820-2915-a Spontaneous Shutdown, No Startup

voltage pulses at C7290, same as L7260, once MagSafe is connected. once SMC_ONOFF_L is grounded for 1-2 seconds and then ungrounded, it stays stable at 0.75V, the same as L7260 from above.

    820-2915-a Spontaneous Shutdown, No Startup

Not sure what happened but the behavior changed. So this is the process: Power cycle L7260_1_1 Disconnect SMC_ONOFF_L L7260_1_2 Power cycle L7260_2 So it looks like the behavior changed after the first long press of SMC_ONOFF_L. Now it seems like grounding SMC_ONOFF_L causes the PP3V3_S5 to go...
