Well it seems I located the problem , UG400 (cd3217) is the only thing getting hot ,
went over the board several times and according to my Qianli thermal cam only one corner
of the UG400 reacts to injection , I injected up to 2v.
Thanks again 2informaticos
Hi to you all :)
I got a 820-02098 board with no liquid and in really nice condition (not even dust) that just died during a Word document according to the client.
I get 5v and 0.000A on the charger...
I have no knowledge about this board (all new to me) but this is what I have so far
PPDCIN...
14.85 is the marked v on the charger but on the schematics its marked 18.5 v and that was what i refered to :)
The R7180 was hard to measure .... because it wasnt there :) Put in a 100k there and all works fine :)
Thank you dos informaticos for your help
Thank you dos informaticos , I see that after 10 months I was away nothing changed , its still you who works :)
I did check the D7012 for a short and it was ok , and replaced the Q7180 and it is unfortunately the exact same symptoms , a short green light
every 3 seconds and on the desk power...
Hi to all
i have a 820-00165 that works perfectly fine from battery and charges from the bench power supply , green and orange present , ppbus 8.57 and pp3v42 is 3.42 but if i connect a known good (several) apple chargers i get no green light or flashing green every 3 seconds and it doesnt...
Hi Brad , sorry but I honestly dont remember .
It was done one year ago so .... :)
If i remember correctly it was a corrupt bios but i am definately not shure , long time ago ...
I would love to help but .....
Jesus do i feel stupid ..... I DID check it in the initial stage and it was still ok :) guess it said goodbye during the reparation :)
What can i say besides thank you a thousand times !!!
mark it as solved :)
Hi 2informaticos
thanks for your reply
resistance between 17/18 is 3.3 Ohm , resistance on 27/28 is 20.2 Ohm
voltage on R7150 when F7140 removed is 8.58 on all pins
Voltages on Q7130
1 = 9.7V
2, 3 ,4,9 =17.94 V
5,6,7 = gnd
8 = 0.6 V
10 = 8.57 V
the only thing that shows any sign of heating...
Hi to you all nice people , Merry Christmas first of all :)
Got a 820-00165 board with no liquid damage or corrosion whatsoever. Had a short on C7430 , replaced it and ppbus went up to 4v (from 0 )
now the board is taking 23 mA and i am stuck :) pp3v42 is ok and i do have green and orange light...
Did that , no activity on the usb or external video ... The only thing the client told me is that they managed to crack the screen and then bought a complete assembly and changed it .... after that they couldnt get any life from the computer after replacing the screen
...
Hi 2informaticos
Another touchbar that makes life interesting
The board takes about 19.9V and 0.66A and CPU is getting hot , no activity on usb or external screen and no image on internal screen
Some measurements:
PP3V0_G3H = 3V
PPVCC_S0_CPU = 1.098V
PP0V6_S0_DDRVTT = 0.6V
PP1V8_S0 = 1.8V...
hehehehe that may be true , but mostly we get "crap under the smc" or dead cpu from him :) you really make an effort to help and you dont tell us how stupid we are for not knowing how to repair the board , if we knew we wouldnt be here :)
Anyway thanks a lot
The exact ohm value is 1.4 Ohm to ground on pin 1 . Even with the C1910 removed it is shorted ... does that mean that the short is in the board , since the U1900 is removed as well ? It seems that I will have to give up on this one . The C8090-92 are ok (unfortunately) .
Thank you 2 informaticos...
