Thanks, Iv left it in my parts pile, so if I come across another that needs a screen I can do that.

Fixed !. Replaced the screen, cable and fuse and it's all back working once again !.

0.536 at the connector and 0.412 at the fuse on pp_bus_g3h side

So open it up and the screen end the pins are welded together and black and the cable pins are black and nasty!. So thats a new cable and screen then !. So I hopefully just need to replace the fuse, that is unless injecting 6 volts into the shorted side of the fuse has blown something else up...

Ok figured it out from youtube, will take it out and test the connector on the lcd itself for short

Iv probed the pins of the screen and the second, third pin are short to ground when its not connected to the motherboard at all. Iv taken the hinge apart but cant see any way of removing the cable, as it seems to go into the aluminum back of the screen once the hinge plastics are removed.

Yes there is a short on that line. It is only present thought when the screen is plugged in ?

It doesnt start from the charger by itself, but that could be a crappy charger, but I only have one of the lower power ones for testing things (the one it came with is the 85w one), but I dont have another 85w one anyway.

Yes green light, but not turning on, no fan spin. Which other voltages should I be looking for ?, iv not come across a no power one before so not sure what should be there to boot. PPBUS_G3H is 12.55

SUCCESS !! So I took the screen apart, and was about to dismantle the lcd from the backlight when I noticed the cable that plugged into the lcd end didnt look in the best of shape and was corroded. So I took the cable from the other screen I had and replaced that and it now works. Which is...

Is there a way to tell what year they are other than comparing the lcd / webcam connectors ?, as they all just in a unmarked pile.
