Hello !
I hope to find some help with this case.
I've got a Macbook Air A2179 (820-01958) that got an electric shock. First mesurement show 5V / 0.016A.
The first observation was the capacitor C78B7 with burn marks near U7800. There was a short cut on "PP3V3_G3H_PMU_VDDMAIN".
I replaced the...
Hi,
I checked all the big coil.
No one gives same reading as PPBUS_AON.
Only L5840, L5820 and L5800 gives the same resistance that i already checked on PP3V8_AON but it's not surprising so far.
Any suggest on components to check ?
Thanks for your answer.
I checked in diode mode PPBUS_AON and PP3V8_AON power rail.
It seems that both rails are shorted (or at least low resistance).
I've got 26,7Ω on PPBUS_AON and 29,5Ω on PP3V8_AON.
Regarding the history, we don't have any informations on the operations carried out by...
Hello,
We received a Macbook pro A2485 which has a power issue. Battery doesn’t take charge and all the USB C ports are stucked at 5V / 0.018A. We can’t get 20V.
The Macbook has already been to a repair company and we note that the UG400 chip has been unsoldered.
Here are the operations we...
It's done, I removed U7410 and I have a resistance value between coils L7420/7410 and PPBUS_G3H that increases progressively until infinity! What's more, I no longer have a short-circuit between PPBUS_G3H and the ground :D
Would you advise me to put in a new chip, re-solder the fuses...
Thanks for your quick reply!
I've used a thermal camera to detect a component that's heating up, but I can't find anything that's heating up.
I have big coil near the CPU that gets the same reading to ground (L7420 and L7410)
L9080 seems good as the resistance value starts at 1 mega Ohm and...
Hello,
I am working on a Macbook Pro A1990 (motherboard 820-01041) which is not charging.
The Macbook consumes 5V and 0.019A at USB-C.
I've physically separated (by removing F7000 and F7001) PPBUS_G3H and the ISL9240 charging chip to see which side the short is coming from. Removing these...
