same result with that BIOS too. When I tried to PRAM reset I held the buttons for the 50 seconds and the screen lit up but nothing on the display. It remained lit for about 10 seconds and then the machine turned off and didn't auto-power on again. Does PRAM reset work differently on this model?

I should have mentioned that SSD was out when attempting USB boot.

Replaced C8340 even though it was measuring the correct value with no short, it was just slightly corroded. Everything seems to be working fine now. Does that make any sense or did I just get lucky?
