    A2779 - 820-02841 - No image - U6070 troubleshooting

Hi, Sorry, I realise that was some crucial info I left out. The history is a prior repair attempt. I found U6070 had loads of flux marks. I figure this is something to do with the fact that the video is not showing on internal screen. USB is at 20V stable and fluctuating between 50 and...

    A2779 - 820-02841 - No image - U6070 troubleshooting

Hi there, I'm trying to troubleshoot the U6070 circuit for this board. I have no image, but I know the LCD is good from testing on another laptop. I have the following readings: R6071 Pin 1: 12V Pin 2: 3.2V R6072 Pin 1: 3.2V Pin 2: 0V C6070 Pin 1: seems to fluctuate between 0V and 3.2V Pin...

    A2485 backlight sheets

Hi there, I was replacing the LCD on a A2485 and I noticed the backlight sheets had liquid ingress. I purchased the replacement but I did not make note of the order when I removed them! The seller is not much help. Can anyone here tell me what order/orientation the sheets should go in? Should...

A2338 - Liquid damage to EDP

Thanks. I guess the initial corrosion is more widespread up to the LCD... Back to my previous question: does this screen replacement require chip swap/angle sensor calibration or can I just swap the entire assembly?

A2338 - Liquid damage to EDP

The webcam doesn't appear to work. The green LED turns on and off periodically. Approx 15 seconds on, 2 seconds off, cycling. Sorry I'm a novice so I had some trouble transferring the main display to external. On boot the secondary display was just a blurry image. I had to close the laptop lid...

A2338 - Liquid damage to EDP

Hola, Thanks for the suggestions. I checked all of the "left" capacitors for the signal line. Diode mode readings return the same value on pin 1 for all (0.384). Pins 2 are O.L. I don't have any schematic for the TCON board, so I tested those signals on the logic board with the LCD...

    820-02098 - A2242 - No image

Quick update, the laptop works with external display output on the USB-C adapter. I have the LCD on order as well. Fingers crossed that fixes the issues. If not hopefully the backlight circuit and HDMI out are simple enough to resolve.

A2338 - Liquid damage to EDP

Hi, I've got a MacBook that had liquid damage/corrosion only limited to the EDP connector for the LCD. The corrosion was only on the TCON board (I think it's called that) and the cable. The connector on the logic board side was not damaged. I replaced the flex cable and EDP connector on the...

The screen from this laptop (A2442) also does not work on the A2779. So I'm happy that this screen is cooked. What I'm unsure about is, will buying a replacement LCD fix the issue? I'm concerned that there is no video output. Should there be video output when the screen is disconnected? For...

    820-02098 - A2242 - No image

Ok I swapped the display. One step foward, and two back. I have an image now. Apple logo, but no backlight and it is power cycling by itself every 30 seconds or so. Initially I had a chime with the boot loop, but that has stopped too.

    820-02098 - A2242 - No image

Hi, I don't have a known good assembly at the moment. I do have a A2779 though. Do you know if the display assemblies are interchangable? Thanks

    820-02098 - A2242 - No image

Good morning, and many thanks for the welcome. I tested the external video with JP600 disconnected. Still no output. Just for my understanding, when you say the LCD should be connected for all signal checks, does this include diode mode readings? I removed the antena bar so that I'd have...

Hi everyone, new member here. I've worked on older Apple devices in the past, but have only worked on a few of the newer devices. I'm a hobbyist and not fixing any of these devices for a customer base. I've bought a few devices recently (M1, M2 Pros mainly) with various board faults. This...
