    A2289 - 820-01987 5V

I tried using 1V and it shows a short consuming 1.3A however went to all the components on the board and didnt find anything heating I am using thinner instead of alcohol since it's more cost benefit down here in Brazil. Could it be the problem? Sorry that I dont have a thermal cam. Should I...

    A2289 - 820-01987 5V

I touhght you mention Short resistance is low enough to start with 1V, that is, go higher at first. Am I getting you wrong? Now you tell me to start with 1V? Ok will start with 1V

    A2289 - 820-01987 5V

Can I start with 3V? 2A is what my PSU also has. Is this enough? I do not feel safe to go over line voltage limit. I think I will keep it to 3V if you agree. Sure I will follow boardview and use thinner to be honest with you! I use thinner more than alcohol Will just put a new U8200 after...

    A2289 - 820-01987 5V

Sure Still have some questions. I should replace U8200 after solving the short on 3V3_G3S right? or it doesnt matter? I do not have thermal camera, how to properly find this short? Injecting volts and putting some alcohol on the componentes that interconnected to 3V3_G3S? Have a better way...

    A2289 - 820-01987 5V

I was going to replace U8200. Removed it But still have a short on PP3V3_G3S = 0.002V Knowing that we still have a short on PP3V3_G3S... could U8200 be good and the problem be around these line? How to move forward from that?

Its a short between S and D. Sorry for my confusion Should I replace U8200?

It looks like shorted 3V3_G3S/G3H_RTC. Not sure what you mean by S-D. However all pins are 0.002 on U8200 except PIN 2 (P3V3G3S_EN) = 0.548

Do I need battery connected to check if C7050 is stable since it's PPVBAT line? I am working with the bare board on the bench by the way and the USB-C connector to power the board.

I do have a MBP A2289 (820-01987) which is not turning ON has around 5.15v on the USB-C connectorI tried DFU to see if have any behavior on Apple Configurator. Nothing happened PPBUS_G3H = 12.23 and drops to 8 in a constant loop 3V3_G3H_RTC = Goes to 1.7v and drops in a constant loop

I do have a scrap board of 3787 Since its seems to be the same model and year however for MBP 15 inch. I think it could work. If so can I use it since it's the only closest SMC that I do have?

    820-3462 not turning on

Since I do not have a exact same model donor board. I am thinking to go with this SMCTool. I think I able to create the USB stick with the tool But since its a board with a NAND. I will not be able to remove the HD/SSD from it. Is there an issue doing it that way? How about specific flash...
