Okay so ISL replaced, green light shows but fan doesn't spin and PPBUS_G3H showing 0.46V. R7005 shows 16.75V on both ends now.
Pins 17/18 flactuating alot not able to get a stabilised measurement.
Pin 27/28 also flactuating.
Should I still also replace R7005?
Hey Everyone!
Got a Macbook Air 2013. Turns on, shows the apple logo then cuts to a black display.
I have tried booting with several MacOS Installation USB but it does the same thing as mentioned above.
Removed the SSD and tried booting with MacOS USB.
Replaced the SSD and tried booting with...
R7005: Pin 1 shows 16.45V (81 Ohms in 200K setting) and pin 2 fluctuates between 1.45V and 2.1V and inbetween them (84.3Ohms in 200K setting).
R7021/22: The resistance seems to keep going up or keep going down at differing times when i take measurements. (around 2M setting and just gradually...
U6900 - 0V all round
U6901 - pin 1 (SMC_BC_ACOK) shows 0.01V, PP3V42_G3H shows 3.40V and all other pins show 0V.
Not sure how to check continuity, SORRY!
Resistance to ground on both ends for L6995 shows around 51.0 (on 200K scale).
SMC_RESET_L seems good (all components showing 3.4V)
Thank you!
Hey Everyone!
Got a 2010 MBP, no sign of liquid damage found.
No green light.
PP3V42 is present.
PPBUS_G3H rail is not present.
Checked resistance around each component with the PPBUS_G3H and all seem to show 0.24 Ohms (in 20K setting).
Not sure what to check next or where to go from here...
What would be the best way forward for this, buy the chip online or to use the chip from a similar donor board (from one that doesn't show similar symptoms)?
The component F9700 has 12.57V showing at the PPBUS_G3H and giving 1.8V which slowly declines at the PPBUS_S0_LCDBKLT_FUSED end. All the connections to the LCD_BKLT gives a value of around 1.42V
Also answering your question it does get hotter than a similar board.
Appreciate any and all help, thanks!
So I've got a logic board where the board turns on (and green light is displayed) randomly meaning I have to plug in and out the charger before it suddenly turns on. When the fan starts spinning the green light cycles from on and off every couple of seconds...
Thank you everyone for your help.
Unfortunately the new chip didn't bring the board to life, doing the exact same thing as before.
Customer decided to go for the more expensive option of going to apple for a replacement macbook.
No Title
What can people make out of this. The boardview I have is for the 2014 model (since the 2015 version isn't easily available).
In comparing the two there is only two resistors below the SMC (however I don't think the third one actually connects to anything so that should be okay)...
Hey smiba, thanks will do! This is my 4th macbook repair so still getting to grips with it.
I was wondering is there any way i can test that the chip is faulty? maybe by taking it out and checking for specific pins that come out short to ground?
Thank you for your help aswell smiba!
regards.
Ordered the ISL chip (should come for Thursday), until then I'll keep at it and update the page once I've got some result.
Thanks for the help so far dukefawks.
Been trying to get an actual reading at SMC_BC_ACOK at both pins but they seem gradually go up and surpass 20MOhms.
I'm fairly new to the repairs so I'm not too sure whether this information is adequate.
Yeah that's what I thought.
Resistance at pin 1 and 2 shows 429 (in diode mode). Couldn't find R5087 but found R5187 which gives 680 (in diode mode)
If I were to measure it in an actual setting then which one? (200, 2K, 20K, 200K etc)
I've got an issue with this logic board and the lack of a boardview makes it harder to diagnose. The ISL chip (U7100) gets warm I've got good readings at both PP3V42_G3H and PPBUS_G3H. Some concerns I have is I have no readings for SMC_BC_ACOK_VCC and my reading for SMC_BC_ACOK for both pin 1/2...
