Thanks Piernov. I'll give it another try.
What do you guys think about Medusa?
I really want to get it but it's not cheap and at the moment it's not the best time to spend money.
My bad!... The board is a 820-00875 so Bios did not work.
The board did power up but was brain dead. Fan wentfull speed and nothing else happened.
Any Bios with Clean ME for an 820-00875.
Thanks!
Hi,
I don't have Medusa but seriously considering it as I have spent an hour trying to clean the ME region with no success.
Followed Piernov video but got stuck with the FD file instead of the SCAP file and couldn't extract the raw ME Region.
I have that board which was f...ed by another shop...
I believe somebody has it in hands but it looks like nothing was done.
I am just wondering if they could have flashed the Bios with no clean ME region.
Could that be possible that it would be messing up with the drive detection + Wi-Fi on this model?
I can't find any missing components.
And...
Yes the lifeboat connector was plugged in.
SSD voltages seem to be present but there are so many that I can't be sure I am not missing one.
1.2, 1.8, cold, hot, etc...
Is there a list of them?
As the title says it, internal storage is not detected.
Both in macOS using another disk or using the data recovery tool which can be plugged to the J9600 connector.
Logicboard is spotless.
I did some diode mode measurement on J9600 and they all compare similarly with a know working board and...
Actually can you provide a BIOS with a clean ME region please?
I have fixed the issue and the board is booting up now but the loading bar reaches the end and get stuck there.
I can confirm it's a motherboard issue as another board in the same enclosure is booting up just fine.
Both are 100k resistors as expected.
When powered on, the signals are at 3.3V so no reset on both lines.
Regarding the SSD, I have 13V on PPBUS_SSD_FLV.
I also 3.3V on SSD_EN.
I have 3.3V on SSD_SR_EN_L ????
I have 3.3V on PP3V3_SSD_FLT
L8630 is testing fine (4 ohms)
I am getting 1.8V on the...
Hi,
I think you were looking the wrong board model. Those parts do not exist on the board.
BTW, it's a 820-00875 however I've checked on the 820-00840 (which is very similar) and those parts number you gave me do not exist either.
Thanks
Hi,
I've got that MacBook and after first inspection it looks good inside.
I couldn't find any liquid damage or corrosion.
The drive has been tested in another machine and is working fine.
It is clearly a mainboard related issue. The Wi-Fi is also not detected however bluetooth works.
What...
I've noticed something weird.
Even though I am getting PPBUS_G3H at 12.6V, when I am measuring the resistance to ground from it, I am getting a short for a second or 2 and then the resistance slowly rises.
But I guess it's my multimeter which is charging the capacitors on that line.
Inversing...
The amperage measurements are done using the board only.
I will definitely try an ultrasonic cleaning but wanted to know if there was something I could check before removing any signs of corrosion if any (even though I couldn't see any on components)
Actually I've just realized it's a 2019...
Hello,
First off, I am complete novice on these new models so apologies for that.
Now this board had liquid damaged around U1200 and the battery.
Once cleaned some tissue paper, I can't really any corrosion, as if no components were touched by water.
The battery however had stains of liquid on...
Hello,
I have that board which had liquid damage on the top edge around CPU and would not turn on.
After fixing the L7630 area on the left of the CPU and some multiple small areas on the back, especially around Y1915,the board would fan spin and reach an S0 state with both PP1V05_S0 and...
Metal plate of lifeboat connector is indeed connected.
We've tried all variants of OSX to boot from but it always leads to the critical update error.
OSX won't boot.
SSD is not showing up in recovery mode nor will show up with the Apple recovery tool (tool still working as tried on another board).
I've tried every combination with and without the touchbar plugged in.
I've measured some rails from the Piccolo chip and they all seem present.
Controller and...
