The confusing part is that sometimes the MacBook will work just fine. Power button, touchbar, sleep, screen sleep... it will work as normal. Right now, I am running it, put it to sleep, woke it up, restarting, etc... no issues whatsoever.

EDIT: Actually, it did work once and after that it didn't. I unplugged the battery and try again and could not turn on the board anymore shorting SMC_ONOFF_L. If the machine goes to sleep, it won't wake up by opening the screen or pressing any keys on the keyboard.

I just checked and I am getting them all. I took some measurements on the test points next to C9409. Please let me know if you see any measurement off or if there is anything else I can try before giving up on this one. What a waste... such a nice board with high specs. Nothing is getting hot...

These are under-filled chips. 4 of them + controller. how do you recommend reflowing such chips? I've just tried with the Apple recovery tool and I am getting read/write errors using software like DriveDX.

I have the exact same issue on same board model. There was a bit of corrosion on the edge but the components impacted have no interaction with the SSD. Same thing I can sometimes boot to internal drive and after a few minutes, the MacBook will restart. Then, at boot menu, internal won't show up...

Chip arrived today. Replaced it and tadaaaaa! worked like a charm. Board is fixed.

FYI, it was just a battery issue. These boards need a battery or will have that behavior.

Nevermind it's not the Bios. I've tried one and same results. I will investigate the board more when I have some free time.

I've ordered a U7370 chip from Aliexpress. Still waiting to get it delivered. The customer gave up on that board and got a new machine... So I bought the machine for parts. I will test again once I have the chip in stock.
