820-00840 - Missing PPVCCGT_S0 - No display on internal nor external

Hello, I have that board that had a prior repair attempt. I don't have any history from the customer on it. The only thing that I saw was the board have been reflowed in the USB-C area. There was also 2 missing diodes of the keyboard I2C lines but I have put these back already. Other than that...

    820-01521 - No backlight

C8512 was shorted. I should have tried the thermal camera right away. Would have saved me from redoing the LVDS connector. Oh well... you live and learn. Thanks for your help

    820-01521 - No backlight

I already did the PRAM reset. I've measured that EDP_BKLT_PWM signal and I am getting 2.4V on the faulty board. I'm getting .75 on both good and faulty board in diode mode. The I2C signals also compares same on both board, around .47 in diode mode.

    820-01521 - No backlight

Hi, I have that bloody board that has no backlight. It has image, I can confirm that and it works fine on an external screen. Test screen is working fine and has been tested with another board. I'm getting the EDP_BKLT_EN at 3.3V on both side of R8442 and it goes to the backlight driver as...

    820-01700 - PP2V5_NAND_SSD0 at 12ohms

Thanks for your replies guys! I've tried 2V and only the SSD area gets warm (40 degrees). Nothing really warms up in particular, not a cap at least. The current goes to .3-.5A even though the limit is set at 1A. I have to take U9580 off a donor board from an icloud locked 15" 2018 board which...

    820-01700 - PP2V5_NAND_SSD0 at 12ohms

Hi, I was getting 5V with no amperage. PPBUS was had a 20ohms resistance to ground which lead me to find the shorted part. I could see that visually U9580 was burnt on a side and a solder ball was lying around. Took U9850 and PPBUS short is now gone. However I'm getting 12ohms resistance to...

    820-00923 - Amperage stuck 0.8A - Not posting

Hi, I have that board that had a prior repair. Originally when I got it, board would have PM_SLP_S4_L but not the PM_SLP_S5_L. The previous tech had tried to rework the U7420 CPU mosfet (so yeah I know, CPU is probably dead) and some other areas. I did replace those 2 mosfets (U7420 U7410 +...

    820-00281 - No internal display

Both do the same between faulty board and working board. LCD_MUX_EN goes to 3.3V, goes to 0V when amperage goes to 0 and then back at 3.3V LCD_MUX_SEL goes to 2.5V, goes to 0V when amperage goes to 0 and then back to 2.5V and finally 3.3V (at that point working board has the screen turning on)

I already did and I'm getting 0.37 on each EDP_INT_ML lines and 0.42 on the EDP_AUXCH lines which compares fine with a known good board. Overall the screen connector has the same values compared to a known good board.

I do have it stable at 3.3V as well as EDP_PANEL_PWR_EN Though from the time I get 20V at the charger and I get the signal to go to 3.3V, it takes almost 20 seconds... that's with the board alone + screen. FYI, I have tried that board with 2 different topcases and screens but same thing...

    820-00281 - No internal display

Hi, I have that board that I did purchase from eBay for a no internal display issue. The board was not reworked, I can tell. The only visual sign of damage that I've found was a slightly corroded Cap C7290. The rest of the board is looking great. The external display works fine and I can boot...

    820-01418 - U7370 keeps shorting PPBUS_G3H to PPVCCSA_S0_CPU

Hi, I have that board that was liquid damaged. I have already replaced U7370 as it was shorting PPBUS_G3H to PPVCCSA_S0_CPU. The chip is an SIC532 but showing up as SIC535CD on the 820-01041 schematics (pretty close to the 820-01418) Board was then working fine. I could use it for a day or so...

Yes it does. I can use the trackpad to select the Wi-Fi network at boot menu. I can also use it just fine in macOS.
