Hi. I have an A1706 that gets only 5v 200mA on all four usb-c ports. Won't power on obviously. PP3V3_G3H shows 1.2v no matter which usbc I use. The ports looked funky. I took both out and connected a brand new port. Made no difference. Diode mode to ground shows 0.331 on PP3V3-G3H

To do that I take off the usbc plate from the opposite of CD3215 side?

At this point do you think there is any problem with the CD3215 chips?

Sorry. I am still learning. Can I use FlexBV to find a trace and, if so, what can I determine with this?

I saw a video where Louis said that this was very complex. I don't think this is a solution at the moment. Also, I want to be sure that this is absolutely necessary.

What are u doing that a Mainboard is looking nice and clean after working on it ?

After using the UC I give the motherboard an alcohol bath. I thought this might be causing the problem but have since dried some boards without the alcohol and have had same results with the white residue.

What do you think I could do? Anything I can do to confirm the problem?

I am using de-ionised water. What do you mean by, do not add alcohol?

Yes. The two damaged pins (which are on the same side of the board (CD3215 side) but different socket) are the only ones that give a different result. Those pins give OL on the damaged board and 0.600 on the working.

I have had problems with white residue left on the motherboard after using the ultrasonic cleaner. Usually the white residue appears in very small areas between contacts on chips. What have you found is the best way to avoid this?
