it is a fucked MUX. just measure diode mode , on pin 1 r9704, only get 0.014, way too low, connected to mux directly. 99% is the mux...
don't want to mess with that POS. if I just jump 3v from some pp3v3 s5 rail, the brightness function keys won't work anymore right?
sorry for the confusion. both pins on r9704 are close to 0.3.
checked r9704, 0 ohm
but i really looked under the microscope around the PCH carefully, really don't see anything, it looks so fine...can't believe anything would leak in there..
having a 820-2850 board got liquid spilled,area around connector and led back light driver circuit.
got no back light.
PPVOUT_S0_LCDBKLT=12v , means not boosting.
checked:
D9701 both pins are 12v
lcdvdd en =3.3v
pwm= 0.3v
smc_lid=3.3v
pin 8 pin22 and pin 23 on u9701 all have correct voltage...
Hi guys
having a 820-3330 board. machine can't boot into OS most of the time, sometimes it does, but running slow, like the kind of SMC sensing issue.
so ran ASD on it, all sensors tests passed.
I ran every test and only get one error when we ran the thermal interface Processor 0 Tim test 75...
having a 820-3115 board, had liquid spilled on.
U7000 was bad and replaced. then ppbus_g3h came out.
it powered on but no back light, fixed that as well. then ran testings in OS.
found battery not being recognized. X mark,traced down to the SMC. and replaced it...
damn then the machine has no...
are we talking about 820-2915 or 820-2914?
solution for 084 820-2915 to 005 820-2915 please?
(having a board with 084 originally and replaced with 005, got some video distortion now)
hey man, I just replaced the Vram and exactly same stuffs happening here!!!
I got the pin artifacts gone and blocks all over the screen. did you figure out?
definitely bottom of the pile, would give it a shot around the weekend and maybe replace the whole GPU first. the white glue of this model is really nasty. the 2011 model would come right off when you heat up, this 2012 model is just not the case
but I did fix one of this board few weeks ago with shorted GPUVCORE circuit due to a bad cap, after repair , it was around that range as i remember.
and for GPUs of 2011 2012 , should be around 100 sth. 820-2915 is around 100 as I can remember..
and appreciate the input bro, may let me know how it goes tomorrow. pretty expensive GPU ,I got it for like 50+ a piece. so don't want to waste another one at this moment
yea come across a lot this year,I think can be a common fault on the circuit that we didn't found out yet.
The glue around VRAM are pretty nasty to remove of this model too
Nothing to do with the LCD for sure. I actually had seen this issue previously like few months ago on another machine.
I replaced the GPu and didn't get the problem fixed and finally gave up. now they come across again. that's why I didn't touch the GPU yet.
and yes it's extremely hot , but...
having a 820-3330 board, having similar situation like the 820-2915 board we handled a lot.
can't boot into OS, sometimes can see like yellowish color distortion, taped mux and no change. should be a common issue since this week having two of them with same issue and don't know where to start ...
