    No 5v_s0 00165

Any idea what could cause s3 not to be present? No shorts on circuit. Struggling to determine, why it isn't coming from the connector in the first place. Is it because of IO board (unlikely) or is it because of another component up stream?

Also, is it not pertinent to go in the order of which they are listed on the schematic, as they will not be present without the rail prior? dukefawks

    No 5v_s0 00165

There is no pulse at L7520, this is assuming my scope is set right... There is not short on that rail either. It looks like, it has a direct line from the connector to the io to L7520... Nothing there either.

    Elementary Question on Sources

So, I sort of muddle my way through board repairs. Obviously looking for visual ques of where to begin. Sometimes that is not a luxury I have so I begin with power rails. My question is elementary, and I know I shouldnt be doing what I do if I don't already know this, but how do you determine...

    No 5v_s0 00165

Having some issue isolating an issue on 5v_s0. No liquid damage, no visible damage. Sent to me, orange light, no boot. Opened it up, no fan, tested no 5v_s0. 3v3_s5 present. Any ideas. Tried a monkey see monkey do at u7200 and changed it. No s0 at pin 16, ppvin_s0_cpuvr_vin=8.56v. There looked...

    Charge light no, boot yes

I have a 3437, that seems to be acting strange. The charge light does not display, however with the battery unplugged and the MagSafe plugged in, it will boot up as normal, after a while it shuts down however. No sign of corrosion or drop damage. Any idea?

    [SOLVED]3208 burnt probe point

So I found a like donor board, excavated around the "good" probe point to see where it went. Couldn't really see where it lead, so I pulled the smc and tested continuity from ball 42 to the components. for whatever reason, The trace that leads to C4920 from the probe point, though missing, the...

    11" MBA code

The battery is A1406 which I believe is the correct model for the mid 2012 11" airs. Any other sucggestions? If the customer just ran it despite the temp sensor, would it be detrimental?

    11" MBA code

All works on this computer but it keeps throwing this code: 4sns/1/4000000:TB1T-0.000. Any idea? Think it's a temp sens... but the TP works fine.

    [SOLVED]3208 burnt probe point

When I received it, the problem was that the wifi didn't work. However after plugging it in once and it turning on/booting once, everything went away (no fan no power etc). Something was spilled on it, I sent it through the US cleaner. Could've been something under the smc at the time, but it's...

    [SOLVED]3208 burnt probe point

Have a 3208 with a burnt probe point. I believe it's probe 815. It's just south of the smc and seems to be part of the smc net for ball 41. It's burnt, I excavated and it took me down a layer. Is this the piece I would jumper pin 1 of c4920 to? Or is there another option? I feel like it could be...

[SOLVED]3208 found pulled pad, tons of connections, am I effed?

Working on a 3208. Found a broken off resistor (R5250), and ripped up pad (1). There are hundreds of things running to this one spot. Am I fucked? Could I bypass the location somehow by tying in somewhere else?

    boardview options?

Is this the appropriate place to ask where I can get the boardview software that Louis has? Linux is wretched. It works and has made me some money but I need something not so irritating to use.

That's what I was afraid of. Nothing, no reading. I will say though, as an anomoly, the fan just started spinning for the first time for about 10 seconds... does that mean anything?

820-00164 green light yes fan no

3.42 at pin 8 of u6100, j6100 I removed before posting original question. Just to be safe. PP3v3_sus is reading 3.34. Could it be the bios? If so, would one from a 3437 work on this board?

820-00164 green light yes fan no

Smc_lid is reading 3.42v I can't remember if this is what it should read with the board out.
