I have been wondering is there away to mimic the flexgate no backlight? Never had to try it yet but im sure i would if i needed lol, Maybe stretch the cable manually or another way to make backlight not work without the "Genius" knowing.

Check Continuity A5 ball(pin 5 U7701) to D7701

Replaced it with no change. It will do a SMC reset but not PRAM reset. Any other suggestions?

No signs of liquid damage, Have used a known good track pad. I know this model only uses USB not SPI so should be fixable . Should i check voltages on J5700 with track pad connected? Any known common issues here?

Hi mate i did attempt that but failed, as there was only 1 pad left. It is 0.1mm enameled wire. maybe it was possible with 0.03 or maybe i was just not skilled enough yet anyway lol thanks.

Should ad that it does charge the battery and will run off the battery when disconnect charger. No liquid damage on the power button or the connector. Only way to turn it on is plugging in the charger and do a SMC reset. Or plug in charger with battery disconnected.

Thanks yeah thats what i was thinking . I replaced track pad and cable from another machine and keyboard now works fine. Silly me probably did not even have to replace the keyboard oh well. Probably was just the cable but i swapped them both track and cable at the moment

HI mate the track cable is the genuine cable but i have ordered another track pad and cable to rule that out.

Think i found the issue, Pin 9 J9500 is missing like its been pulled out probably i was a bit rough with it. It is PP3V3_S0 (Although the original short to ground was on that line?)
