    820-2915 GPU VCORE Problem

ASD passing doesn’t mean much more than your system will boot and handle minimal tasks. Wasn’t designed to really stress it. Usually if they can boot into ASD they will pass. You probably have the power setting set to low power/automatically switch between graphics - when using basic tasks it...

    2011 GPU "Repair"

I’m thinking of trying this out on some 256mb boards I have laying around - have a couple of questions. What is the brightness level stuck at, since it can’t be adjusted? Does it work with all configurations (256mb - 1Gb)? Remove just U9270 or all 5 resistors/cap as well? Fuse between R9655...

    820-00244 no power anywhere

No Title No adapter. Recommendations on these? Pics attached. I’ve seen these “pre-programmed” on eBay. Figured I’d at least get power on the board somewhere first, then worry about swapping/ programming.

    820-00244 no power anywhere

2016 820-00244 a1534 12” MacBook Received board only with no history. Looks to be in excellent shape and no signs of any prior work. (U6100 has a crack on the edge but I don’t think that would cause this issue). Not getting any power anywhere. Even if U3100 was bad wouldn’t I still see...

    820-00244 a1534 2016 - “Issue with memory module”

Was able to copy an OS onto it but still just randomly crashes. Twice now. Case looks perfect. Doesn’t appear to have ever been opened. I’m in FL... Will try to see if anything is out of the ordinary under the chips, then try a reflow if necessary. Thanks guys.

Used the BGA station... was dead already. Thanks.

    820-00244 a1534 2016 - “Issue with memory module”

820-00244 2016 MacBook 12” a1534 No apparent damage, random failure - kernel panic when attempting boot. Looks fine inside and out. Unable to successfully reinstall OS via bootable or internet. Able to access and securely wipe drive in recovery and target. Able to boot into Linux, shows 7.7Gb...

    820-3476 Dead CPU - Swap?

820-3476. Dead CPU. 16Gb board, otherwise would move on. Can these be swapped? Would the only source be a donor board and does it need to be identical? Noticed the CPU has a slight bend once it was removed. Not sure if that’s normal due to the caps on the bottom.

    MAC pro no sound

Not much to go on here.. what’s the history? The connectors on the boards for the main cables have extremely delicate pins like a CPU pins. These bend out of place easily. Have you take apart? Schematics are difficult to come by on this one. If you need to check anything against a known good...

    A1534 820-00045 Frankenstein

Eh, I’ll give it a shot and see what happens. Also, just saw your post about AASP’s. If you need a now former AASP employee from a university, I’m in.

    A1534 820-00045 Frankenstein

No luck. “Input/output error” after 1.6Gb. Shows up in the Disk app with 3 partitions. Is it possible to swap out the memory from a donor on these or would there be firmware issues?

    A1534 820-00045 Frankenstein

It was definitely the drive recovery mode. No globe, plus the antenna connectors were ripped off. Replaced those then tried internet recovery just to be sure. “sudo diskutil cs delete “Macintosh HD”” tries to delete then fails with due to permissions. I noticed the core storage logical volume...

    A1534 820-00045 Frankenstein

I’m able to boot from another device and can see the internal drive but it won’t mount or erase. “Unable to open device”. Tried with Disk Utility, and terminal through bootable recovery and target disk. Able to boot into internal recovery mode. The OS volume appears to be corrupt and this drive...

820-3437 Booting and chime, logo crash (but still running)

Where was the corrosion? You can run the full ASD OS testing but not boot into the OS? These batt connectors are very susceptible to corrosion underneath. I usually pull back a bit before running through the cleaner and use a brush after. Also, I’ve noticed they can catch debris from the...

    820-00045 no display

If you connect just the DCIN and display to the board, do you get image/ backlight with a good display? Had another couple of these that were crippled by the keyboard and tpad. if you get image, shut down and plug things in one at a time. See what prevents it from working.**make sure to...

    Replacement topdeck/keyboard for Retina 12" A1534 - preferred supplier?

So.. how does this foil/ lid sensor work? Had a bad 2015 a1534 keyboard - when plugged in the display backlight would flash briefly but the system wouldn’t turn on. Carefully peeled back the film and inspected for any damage. Couldn’t see anything obvious but cleaned anyway. Used the Crest...

    820-00045.. another one sodomized

Welp.. 3rd case worked. Guess it wasn’t a match with the others I tried. Im assuming the original case has liquid damage that hasn’t tripped any sensors. Good candidate for the ultrasonic cleaning test!

Guess I’ll just start making a home powerbank then.. think I just need about 100 a1502s for that!

    820-00045 no display

A bad aftermarket audio flex cable did this for me.. try leaving the cable unplugged from the MLB and see. Also, if upside down will cause the same. These are definitely odd boards.

    820-00045.. another one sodomized

No Title Some pics. Post ultrasonic 2nd round.. no difference. Fuse next to tpad / keybrd connector looks a little toasty but measures fine. Discovered the bottom shield was removed and poorly replaced too. Doesn’t look like anything else was replaced on the board. Usually I’d call this FUBR...
