couldnt find any out of the ordinary resistor reading as in no bad pull-up resistors
at U2800 the lower right resistors are affected by liquid damage: R3097 R3094 R2829, replacing those right now
U2890 does look quite dirty. Cleaned with alcohol and did a reflow, but the diode number dont seem to change much from earlier. These are CD3215s from the same IC strip. bad solder could be the culprit, would you advice to put on 2 new CD3215s or first rule out other problems? Maybe when...
diode mode fixed
measured PP3v3_G3H at R3001 and it's there
you mentioned the 3V3 rail should start with input 5V is that correct?
I see alot of bidirectional datalines on the CD3215's, what output line(s) can I check to know it's working to a large extent? which are the last ones to come on...
4 outputs of L3200
1 - 645
2 - 645
3 - 1507
4 - 1507
couldnt find another LDO connected to the other CD3215, not experienced with these boards Im sorry
A A1706 came in with liquid damage, alot of it. Tried cleaning the CD3215 and ISL but no luck. Removed both CD3215s after seeing brown/black goo coming from underneath it, but after replacing still no luck.
Have not worked with USB-C macbooks before so one thing is not completely clear. Is it...
As the title says, I have received an old macbook which displays a white screen after loading bar.
I have already tried:
-disconnected everything apart from DC-IN and display
-PRAM, VRAM, SMC reset
-reinstall macos
-boot from external drive
but to no avail.
Is it the graphics chip which...
Happened on its own. But I can see from the partially yellowish tin that the board itself is refurbished. Also the GPU has been disabled. The costumer changed his mind and does not want to continue the repair. Thanks for the help, at least learned another thing about the PWM :)
Hi, I have a no backlight 8202915 in front of me with 24.7V on the LCD backlight rails. I assume this is a voltage which should make the backlight turn on. The PWM rail to the backlight driver has 2.3V which is maybe low? I have too little experience to tell. Backlight driver faulty which makes...
Closing the lid still makes it shutdown. Powering on takes one normal press till the fan stops spinning, then one long ~5second press until the chime comes and the backlight turns on. I can only release the power key after the backlight turns on, releasing on chime makes it shutdown again.
replacing all 4 boards/flexes does not change anything. Now trying to use USB macOS, but it has had a full loading bar for 4+ hours now. Also the slowness is noticable before entering any os. Also in the Catalina Installer for instance
Tried Pram reset, got a big white flash, this is something I have not experienced before so maybe it's not what it is supposed to do
Original magsafe 2 charger with power brick attatched and one connected to power supply with 19.5V 2A
Disconnecting trackpad and using the pads gives the same...
It turns on after I first pressed the power button, then release then press again for long enough to make the backlight come on (releasing when hearing the chime makes the mac shutdown directly)
it is also very slow, will try to install new os via pendrive today, but the above behaviour looks...
