[SOLVED] 2010 MacBook Air 11" 820-2796-A No sleep when lid closed...

Had some very minor liquid exposure/damage. There was some corrosion around the trackpad cable and J5700. This was cleaned up and cable was replaced with a known working cable. Passes EFI HW tests. Only issue I can find is that it will not go to sleep with the lid closing, otherwise it works...

820-00239 - Fully Functional except no audio

According to an ifixit teardown, in your first photo, the upper right hand of the board, the IC is the Cirrus Logic CS42L83A Audio Codec... I'd start there...

    820-2936-B No USB ports

Diode measured L4610 and it had the 0L and L4600 measured just fine. That's why I asked the question. Thank you for clarifying on why L4610 could affect L4600... it doesn't. Just gonna go bad sooner or later too. I'll replace it too thank you.

    820-2936-B No USB ports

L4610: 0L on PIN 3 0.626 on PIN 2 0.617 on PIN 4 0.623 on PIN 1 replaced L4610 and now BOTH USB work... Why would L4610 affect the other USB port???

What would cause both ports, not just one, to go bad?

    820-2936-B No USB ports

I have a 13" MacBook pro (Early 2011) neither USB ports are "working". Each will light up a mouse for a split second and then goes dark. Both have the 5V. J4600 which also acts like a SMC debug port has SEL 10 HI (3.4v) and of course OE is low since it is GND. This should select USB...

I do not remember seeing any "chipset" test results or mention of ME... I'll run it again today.

Early 2011 17" Macbook Pro power issues 820-2914-A

Might be the bad keyboard/power button. I disconnected the keyboard ribbon cable and it boots from the charger. I am going to test a keyboard from a 15" model.

Early 2011 17" Macbook Pro power issues 820-2914-A

I have an early 2011 17" MacBook pro. When I plug a legit (brand new as of a week ago) 85 watt charger in, light turns green, fans start spinning, can hear the DVD drive initialize, but then powers off and tries to power on again and then kicks off. Green light stays on charger. I figured it...

    820-2936-B Early 2011 13" Macbook Pro fan/failed sensor

I did not check R4910. I will when I get home this afternoon from work. To quote one of the best movies, "So you're tell me there's a chance..." Haha, thanks again. I'll check back once I measure R4910 and replace the resistors.

    820-2936-B Early 2011 13" Macbook Pro fan/failed sensor

    PIN 9/10 both have 0.515 diode measurements R5222/23 removed I get diode mode: R5223 pin1: 0.558 pin2: 0.554 R5222 pin1: 0.560 pin2: 0.559 Ran ASD with resistors removed... Still only TC0C -- CPU die - Digital Core 0 "ERROR - SMC I0 failed" Is this bad news?

    820-2936-B Early 2011 13" Macbook Pro fan/failed sensor

I did set ASD to continue on error instead of stopping on error. That is the only error that is kicked out. Everything else passes. I measured all PINS on U5510 last night and none, other than ground (obviously), were anywhere close to short (all were over 0.4xx)

    820-2936-B Early 2011 13" Macbook Pro fan/failed sensor

I ran EFI ASD. Only thing that failed was the TC0C (just like in the built in diag crap.), as you mentioned earlier. Said SMC I/0 Fail as the warning. U5510 has the dot in the top left corner (so that is PIN1, confirmed in BV as well) Goes does left side and then upper right is PIN6, goes down...

    U5510 Measurements (diode shows nothing shorting to ground) PIN1 3.24V PIN2 1.1V PIN3 0.58-0.59V PIN4 1.05V PIN5 0.60-0.63V PIN6 3.28V PIN7 3.23-3.28V PIN8 3.24V PIN9 3.22V PIN10 0V (GND) Is it normal for the u1800 (PCH) to get pretty hot?

    820-3115 Green Light, no power/fan

Sounds good. I'll flux and heat it up (not to reflow, just to get the crap out) I should remove the clear edge bonding, correct, even just for trying to clean under the chip? I'll report back. hopefully with good news.

    820-3115 Green Light, no power/fan

I will check it out with a battery connected and charger connected when I get back home. I've never replaced an SMC, but pretty much have every other IC on the boards. If I had a working SMC (balled of course) it should fix the issue? Not sure if it is worth my time. I guess it would be a good...
