that is right about the smc, needs to be the exact same model. first try to reflow the smc just in case a ball is corroded or not connected sometimes this works and saves time and a smc. if that does not work remove the replacement and old smc very well so that you can just seat the...

the 00165 board i fixed by replacing the smc, powers on by battery, runs on battery, thinks its charging the battery but it cannot read how many mah are remaining. it will power on with 1% battery and then goes to 0% wile its on and runs on 0% battery. i think it will even charge without it...

okay i replaced some components around the smc and got the light to go orange now and when i do an smc by pass the fan spins now. i changed out the smc and still the same thing, and 8.59v on ppbus. possibly a bad smc i changed it out with or not well soldered maybe?

i replaced the u5010 and now im getting 3.4v on smc_reset before it was not present. checked ppbus and its still at 8.3v i did an smc bypass by holding powre down and dropping charger on it and it resets but no fan spin. could this still be the smc if the fan did not spin on the smc bypass?
