aprendiz I get 4.65 on pins 2&5 meaning I'm getting PCH_PWR_EN# and #3V_PCH is not present, and now I've also replaced Q43. I'm getting VSB+ but on the other side of the 200k resitor R181 I get nothing, not sure if that's normal.
Hi,
I have a Compel LA-8711P board that gets power for an S5, S4, S3 and even turns on briefly with a quater fan spin, but shuts down after a second. There was a tiny amount of liquid damage around the mosfet Q43 and a 200k resistor R181. I was able to clean the corrosion off and replace R181...
Yeah, the stuff sticks on amazingly, I've used it for in home repairs and making a clock for a friend, but when an iPad or macbook screen needs to come off.... Sigh
This sounds like an SMC bypass, and in doing so, also loosing wifi, fan control, ect. Check if you're getting S5_PWRGD, SMC_RESET_L, PM_SLP_S5_L, and PM_SLP_S4_L, and when you in the OS, go to the system info and see if your computer can see what SMC firmware your running
Just to rule out the basics, I'm assuming you've tried another hard drive, or made sure that one isn't dead. Try an SMC reset like suggested above, if that doesn't work, Check U4510 to see if it's getting voltage and SATARDRVR_EN
I know, I know, you guys are going to pound me for touching such an old piece of shit, but I've already spent 30+ hours on this, and I'm just itching out of personal curiosity to know what's going on with it. I have Green Light, S5 state, SMC_ONOFF_L, RSMRST_PWRGD, PM_PWRBTN_L, PM_SLP_S4_L...
