    Hi. Thanks for the quick reply. I dont have a way to connect a display to this externally. i will have to purchase an adapter this week. however i did do the SMC bypass and does the exact same thing just 10 seconds later. also tried safe mode but same issue. so at a loss still unfortunately.

    so have a macbook pro 13" 2009 A1298. came to me with not booting. on diagnosing found if i removed the screen the thing would boot and chime. replaced the screen with a known working one and same issue. replaced the backlight driver ic and still the same issue.
