    A1707 - 820-00281-A Missing S4

    - PM_RMRST_L - 3.32V - PM_PWRBTN_L - 3.32V When I short SMC_ONOFF_L to ground at SW5200, PM_PWRBTN_L (measured at R1802) goes to a few millivolts while I hold the short. It then comes back to 3.3V when I release the short.

    A1707 - 820-00281-A Missing S4

So somehow I now have S5_PWRGD but I don't have P5VS4_PGOOD, and R7802 is approximately 100K. I then found that P5VS4_EN_RCD is missing , and more importantly that PM_SLP_S5_L (its dependency) is missing. Could you please point me what PCH signals need to be present for PM_SLP_S5_L to be...

    A1707 - 820-00281-A Missing S4

Happy Thanksgiving! I bought an A1707 that was liquid damaged. It sometimes turns on after leaving it alone for a while (albeit doesn't boot, but that might be a separate problem). Right now, these are what I probed for (not in order). It shows 0.05A and 20V from the USB-C meter. I poured...

    820-00239-A usb frying devices

Hi, I have an 820-00239-A that works minus two pretty big issues. Issue 1: When I plug in my charger or my flash drives, things work great independently. When I plug in my flash drive and charger together, it fries my flash drive and sends 20v straight to the drive (already fried 3 drives...

    A1706, Touchbar, 820-00239-A, No Chime

    Everything near U7100, U7210, and U7220 looks really clean. CPUVR_SWSA - L7270 - 1.10v PPVCCSA_S0_CPU - R7270 - 1.03v CPUVR_PGOOD - 3.02v CPUCORE_PWM1 (the PWM pin to U7210) - 2.48v (measured as DC) CPUCORE_FCCM - 14.1mV (600k to ground) - Another clue I am guessing contributing to why I'm...

    A1706, Touchbar, 820-00239-A, No Chime

Hello folks, I recently bought a water damaged A1706 touch bar that doesn't have any chime (and obviously no display or fan). When connected to a USB-C monitor, the monitor turns on but no display (indicating its drawing some power). Here are the measurements I took - do you have suggestions on...

820-00875 No Backlight / No Display

    That's unfortunate, okay thanks.

820-00875 No Backlight / No Display

Hmm if the GPU is dead it wouldn't work with an external monitor though, that's why I thought there may be hope.

820-00875 No Backlight / No Display

Yep the voltages were measured with the internal LCD connected and board flipped around

820-00875 No Backlight / No Display

Neither the data lines nor the PP5V_S0SW_LCD resistance - I thought those should be measured without the LCD connected - will redo those measurements then. All the voltages above were done with the LCD connected and the board flipped around - I'll also order another flex cable in case Apple...

820-00875 No Backlight / No Display

    Oh very interesting, thanks for the hint! Below are the measurements once again while lid is open and external monitor connected. 5V_S0SW_LCD - 5V for a second PP3V3_S0SW_LCD (R8520 Pin 2) - 3.3v for a second DP_INT_HPD (R8501 Pin 1) - 3.3v for a second EDP_PANEL_PWR_EN (R8510 Pin 1) - 3.1v for...

820-00875 No Backlight / No Display

I bought an A1708 laptop (from original owner in person) for my personal use. 1) The original symptom was the screen would occasionally have a glitchy-looking screen until you move the display (indicating an issue with the flex cable). 2) Took it apart and (don't ask why, I was an idiot) while...

    820-4924-A (Retina 2015) Running Slow

Fixed! One of the resistors (R5875) near the right fin stack on the schematic was loose and fell off. Soldered it back on and it works again :)

    820-4924-A (Retina 2015) Running Slow

Sorry I meant I cleared the part part between the $SVS tags, I thought that was the ME region. I didn't touch anything else.

    820-4924-A (Retina 2015) Running Slow

Hey, I got an 820-4924-A motherboard with possibly some liquid damage and just did a Bios ME Region clean (since it had an EFI lock in it). Battery charges and it runs off battery so I was happy, but now I am running into a new issue. The system is running very slow and kernel_task is using up...
