    820-01700 - short on U6960

I replaced U3100 and UB400, but the tester keeps restarting. I noticed that on those ports, the PPBus fluctuates, starting at 12V and dropping until it restarts. On the other ports where I have 5V and 0.40A, the PPBus now stays fixed at 8.4V.

    820-01700 - short on U6960

Yes, both lines are the same. But with different values for the faulty board compared to the good one. The faulty board has 0.190 and the good one 0.500.

    820-01700 - short on U6960

I already tested with S-UEM2, it doesn't show anything. Comparing it to a 100% working logic board, the only difference is the PP5V_s4_x_usbc and PP5V_s4_t_usbc lines. On the good board in diode mode I have 0.500, on the bad board I have 0.190. But in flexBV the data shows 0.190 on that line...

    820-01700 - short on U6960

Yes, the screen on the meter is black. This only happens when the battery is connected.

    820-01700 - short on U6960

I tested it with a top case with a good, charged battery. The PPBus remains stable at 12.6v on battery power. However, the behavior of the ports changes when the battery is connected. U3100 and UB400 remain off. The others stay at 5v and 0.01a.

    820-01700 - short on U6960

All ports are at 5V and 0.40A, but U3100 and UB400 are restarting after a few seconds. I have 1.5V and 3.3V from the LDO lines. Is LDO 1.1V on the CD3217? I got a U3200 from a donor board, same model and same position.

    820-01700 - short on U6960

I replaced the U3200 chip; the port now generates 12V, but it's still fluctuating. I discovered that when I connect the charger to ports U3100 and UB400, the tester restarts after a few seconds, but I have 5V and 0.40A on all ports. I checked the LDO lines of all ports, everything is OK. I...

    MacMini m1 - 820-02091 - short line

It was a small capacitor around the chip. Injecting 1V and using alcohol, it boiled slightly; it was barely visible under a microscope.

    820-01700 - short on U6960

I found changes in the U3200. When connected to that port, I don't get PPBus. I checked in diode mode and the 1.5V LDO line has 0.090. I'm going to order this chip to replace it. Could it be the cause of the problem?

    MacMini m1 - 820-02091 - short line

My Mac is dead. I tested the power supply and I have 12V. Based on some videos online, I found a short circuit in a line that seems quite common to the problem, but I don't have a good circuit board to identify which line it is and there's no schematic. I removed a resistor to reduce the area...

    820-01700 - short on U6960

Removing R6934/5 stabilizes PPBus at 12.6V. R6934/5 in diode mode, both pins 1 and 2 have 0.450

    820-01700 - short on U6960

I found a short circuit on the PP3V3_GH3_RTC line. It was a badly burnt U6960. I removed it and the short circuit disappeared, but when I put in a new chip, I have problems with the PPBus voltage fluctuating. As a test, I removed R6900 and the PPBus has 12.6V. If I leave the board without...

    820-01041 - 20v 0.02a

I discovered that I do not have the PP3v3_s5, even with the battery connected, which stays at 20v and pulling 0.7a and restarting. There is no short in the line, diode mode 0.330

Do you think it's worth trying to change the SSD controller or is it a waste of time?

    820-01041 - 20v 0.02a

My Mac stopped working overnight. I took it apart and it was very dirty. I thought it was a typical short on the SSD's 2.5V line, but there were no shorts. I have G3S voltages, and on the SSD, I only have 12.6V PPBus. I don't have 2.5V. Regarding SMC_RST*, my notes showed NC for the 9240...
